HEADING WEST-WATCH RACE LIVE HERE
I am excited to head west for a month of stand up paddle racing in Utah, California and Oregon. This weekend I will be racing in the H2O Overdrive Summer Series at the Jordanelle Reservoir just outside of Park City, Utah. The weekend should be a lot of fun with a course race planned for Saturday, July 28th and a downriver race on Sunday. Danny Ching and Jamie Mitchell will be there along with many other top SUP racers. I am looking forward to competing against the best in the world this weekend. You can watch us battle it out on the water live at the link below. I’ll try to wave to the camera and represent for Florida with a podium finish!
After racing this weekend I will stick around with friend and owner of Quickblade Paddles, Jim Terrell. From the race will will make our way to the Outdoor Retailer Show to display the QB paddles and network with the rest of the stand up paddle industry. After the OR show we will drive back to the Quickblade HQ in Newport Beach, CA. In Newport I plan to train and get ready for the Tahoe Nalu race the weekend of August 11th. After the Tahoe event we will drive to Hood River, Oregon for the Gorge Paddle Challenge.
Hood River is one of the biggest water sports playgrounds in the United States. The windsurfing, kiteboarding and paddling in Hood River are world class. I can’t wait to do the scorching fast 8-mile downwind run on the Columbia River. Check out a recent downwind run I did in the BVI’s during the HIHO event. The first day of the event will be a downwind race with a course race on the second day. After the race I am staying an extra week to kite board and paddle in the beautiful area of the Columbia River Gorge.
